Staff

Now in her 24th year of teaching at Zion, Julie is a Zion School graduate and daughter of member Carol Boes.  She received her B.A. from SVSU, her colloquy as a Lutheran teacher from Concordia University-Ann Arbor, and a Masters Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Concordia University-Ann Arbor.  She and her husband Tony have three sons and a daughter-in-law: A.J. and Samantha, Charles, and Dan.

Mrs. Priem is beginning her 1st year at Zion.  She graduated from CMU with a B.S. Education and a B.S. in Museum Studies.  Originally from Charlotte, MI, Mrs. Priem has taught in Alaska, California, and Michigan.  She and er husband, Ben have a small farm which includes turkeys, chickens, a duck, and their rescue dog, Suka.  Her hobbies include reading, traveling, singing, and being outside.

 
Mrs. Degg is in her 19th year of teaching at Zion having assisted as a teacher’s aide in various grades before teaching full-time. Mrs. Degg went to school and was confirmed at Immanuel, Bay City. She is also a VLHS graduate. Mrs. Degg has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education from SVSU. She has completed the Colloquy Program through the Concordia University Education Network. She is mom to VLHS graduate, Neil Klemm. Mrs. Degg is married to James, and they enjoy camping.

Holly, along with Christine Bossbach, serves as Admissions Counselor.  She has a Bachelor’s of Business Management from Western Michigan University. A lifelong member of Zion and graduate of Zion school, Holly is married to Jason Essex.  They are parents of Zion students Henry (4th grade) and Wilma (Kindergarten).  They enjoy spending time at the Nuffer family compound in northern Michigan. Holly also enjoys working on school functions with her Zion family, gardening, and getting out for a jog when she has time.
